Care Built Around Your Child
We care for children with autism, cerebral palsy, sensory processing disorder, and other medical or developmental conditions — including developmental delays, behavioral challenges, sensory sensitivities, and physical disabilities. Our approach is flexible and customized: specialized techniques, calming strategies, and sedation options when they help.
Kids with special needs often face higher dental risk — daily brushing can be hard, medications and diets can promote decay, and motor coordination challenges make hygiene tougher. That’s why preventive care matters even more.
Common Challenges We Help With
- Teeth grinding (bruxism) — often during sleep; can cause tooth damage, jaw pain, and headaches. We can create custom night guards
- Gum disease — hygiene limitations raise inflammation and infection risk; routine cleanings and technique coaching help
- Tooth decay — some medications and diets cause dry mouth and cavity risk; fluoride treatments and regular checkups protect
- Oral hygiene at home — we recommend modified toothbrushes, flossing aids, and adapted techniques that fit your child
Comfort and Sedation Options
Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is a mild, fast-acting sedative that relaxes without putting your child to sleep — safe, effective, and quick to wear off. For deeper relaxation, oral sedation is available; our dentists carefully evaluate your child’s medical history and discuss every option with you before proceeding.
Start Early, Visit Often
We recommend a first visit around the first birthday or when the first tooth appears — whichever comes first. Early visits familiarize your child with the office, build trust, catch concerns early, and give you practical at-home tips.
